For assessment of suspected bowel abnormalities, evaluation with an "Abdomen 2-View" X-Ray study, which includes upright or lateral decubitus, is recommended, as KUB (Kidneys, Ureters and Bladder) is a supine examination with exposure technique optimized to detect stones but is not effective in assessing bowel obstruction, ileus or free air.
